Inspiring Youth, Strengthening Democracy
This ingenious platform, Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad or BCS (Indian Student Parliament), is a non-political platform to mobilize youth, primarily through the general secretaries, joint secretaries, and socially engaged and politically astute students from roughly 25000 colleges at more than 400 universities in India. It was started by Rahul V. Karad in 2011 and offers political sensitization to around 10,000 students between the ages of 18 to 25. It provides lessons on the functioning of a democracy and encourages the students to serve society by entering public life and attaining leadership roles. It is aimed at enhancing the roles and relevance of youth in democratic institutions such as political parties, social organizations, colleges, universities, and public institutions. Until now 12 events have been held, and the last one was on September 2022.

Youth For Future Leadership
Global Students' Platform
Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad (BCS) is an apolitical platform on which students from all ideologies-political, religious, sectarian or otherwise-assemble to voice their opinions. It seeks to transform the outlook of young minds for their involvement and access in societal and rational causes for nurturing the dreams and legitimate aspirations of young and resurgent faces of India for strengthening the foundation of Indian democratic leadership.
BCS imparts practical leadership training to prepare the youth for future leadership. It is a truly apolitical outfit and does not engage in any mainstream political activity. This mission is supported by Legislative Assemblies, Parliament Affairs Ministries and Youth Ministries of various State Governments.
BCS is aimed at enhancing the roles and relevance of youth in democratic institutions such as: political parties, social organizations, colleges, universities and public institutions. We are trying to create an environment so that committed, educated and spirited youth participate in democratic polity and contribute in evolving a healthy, democratic system.
